When relocating, you often don't have the time to look at every house for sale. At best, you might have the time to tour 20 to 25, so narrow down the list first thing with this advice:
- Before leaving town, write your needs into one list. Then write the things you simply want in another. If a house comes up short on your must-haves, it's one less house to look at.
- Have a predetermined price range. This could be based on mortgage or a reasonable estimate of how much you'll get from selling your present home.
- How long of a commute are you willing to make each day to your job and other activities? Traffic in the Cary area could be different than what you're currently experiencing, so let me know your limits regarding drive-time, and I'll locate homes based on my knowledge of drive times in the area.
